Position Title: CAD Tool Designer

Location: Griffin, GA

 

Job Scope:

CAD tool designer responsible for CAD design on small, precision, elastomeric products and process related equipment.

 

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions 

  • Design and develop Prototype & Production Rubber Mold (Compression, Flashless Transfer, & Injection) tooling projects
  • Design and develop Prototype & Production Die (OD, ID, & Slitting) projects.
  • Create and Develop Product Drawings and updates as required by NPDEs
  • Perform updates to current product and tool drawings as related to Vernay Engineering Change Implementation.
  • Improve Engineering design efficiencies by developing 3D Seed Models for product and tooling & automation projects.
  • Provide tool design support to Tool Room and Production Processes.
  • Work with Engineering Management to develop and write best practice standards for model and drawing creation.

 

Education, Experience, and Skills Desired:

  • Associate degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent experience.  Bachelor degree in engineering is preferred.
  • 2-3 years experience in Design Engineering role.
  • Thermoset rubber processing background with knowledge of rubber injection, flashless transfer, compression mold design and equipment.
  • Good overall knowledge and capable of using 3-D CAD design software (Solid Edge).
