Position Title: Facilities Manager

Job Scope:

The Facilities Manager supports manufacturing by ensuring robust performance for production equipment, tooling, and facility equipment. This role focuses on continual improvement to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).  In order to maximize OEE and minimize production risk, the Facilities Manager drives world class preventive maintenance, spare parts inventory management, effective reaction time, and diligence in high quality work.

 

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions 

  • Support the Lean and 5S program as evidenced by widespread area ownership, continuous auditing and reporting, and achieving sustained performance.
  • Direct maintenance, set-up, and tooling activities to ensure production issues are resolved in a timely manner, specifications are met, and production down-time is minimized. 
  • Support and create culture of world-class preventive maintenance program using ERP system.
  • Ensure that the facility is adequately maintained and all preventative- and reactive maintenance issues are resolved.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled audits of set-ups, tool room, and maintenance to ensure equipment is running as expected and to specifications.
  • Track capital spending, provide monthly reports of actual spending vs. plan, and conduct audits of approved capital projects to determine performance to projected savings/improvements.
  • Use the ERP system for metrics that include production scheduling, usage data, uptime, etc.
  • Develop, direct and audit compliance to process stabilization program, including procedures for set-up, maintenance, tooling, and operation of equipment.
  • Facilitate employee training to continually improve knowledge base for technical team.
  • Drive safety process adherence and safety awareness within the technical teams.
  • Continually improve department metrics to include equipment downtime, PM completion, spare parts inventory accuracy, 5S, reaction time, and ultimately OEE. 

 

Education, Experience, and Skills Desired:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering and/or 10 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a facilities management function.
  • Knowledge of process control disciplines
  • Knowledge of rubber molding and tooling experience.
  • Knowledge of lean and continuous improvement methodology.
  • Attention to detail, good people skills, and ability to work in very busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent safety and attendance records.
  • Strong computer skills.
