Position Title: Key Account Manager

Location: Oldenzaal, The Netherlands


New products are developed in close collaboration with internationally operating customers, followed by years of serial production. We do this together with approximately 250 committed colleagues combining knowledge, quality, reliability and product development.

In this challenging growth position you are responsible for building and deepening a close partnership with key accounts and new prospects in the automotive industry. You draw up sales plans and translate these into concrete action plans in close collaboration with customers and the internal organization.

  • Responsible for realizing the targets set with regard to the turnover and margin targets within the automotive industry.
  • Maintaining and further expanding relationships with both customers and prospects in the Automotive segment.
  • Acquisition of new accounts and building a long-term relationship with customers.
  • Used to working on a project basis in strategic development processes in close collaboration with customers.
  • Drawing up and presenting contracts, quotations and annual plans.
  • Organizing customer visits and other activities to promote Vernay's products.
  • Report to the Global Business Unit Manager (Automotive).



  • Bachelor’s of Master’s degree in a technical direction, for example Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • At least five years of work experience as a (key) account manager in a technical b-to-b environment.
  • Experience in an international environment, affinity with strategic technical sales processes, preferably in the sale of specialist technical parts.
  • Demonstrable strategic insight and excellent communication and social skills.
  • Ambition to grow further and you have leadership capabilities.
  • Personal characteristics: enthusiastic, result-oriented, analytical, customer-oriented, enterprising, decisive and flexible.

A unique sector

Already during my study Industrial Engineering, I started at a supplier in the automotive industry. After some wanderings, I have now been working in this sector for more than 3.5 years, at Vernay flow control solutions.

As someone with a lot of affinity and interest in technology, it is nice to be part of the many new developments in the automotive industry. Due to the wide applications of the Vernay products, this can range from products for seating comfort systems to emission systems for the latest generation of combustion engines and even the current transition to alternative drive systems such as; hybrid, full electric and fuel cells. Working as an account manager in this sector and within Vernay creates many challenges that require a high degree of independence and responsibility.
