EHS Coordinator

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for managing and advancing Vernay’s EHS programs across our North American operations. This includes ensuring regulatory compliance, implementing ISO standards, driving risk mitigation efforts, and cultivating a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization. The EHS Coordinator will be based in Griffin, GA, with travel to other facilities.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Skills


  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations including REACH, ROHS, PFAS, Prop 65, etc.
  • Lead and maintain programs for ISO 14001 compliance and ISO 45001 implementation
  • Develop and maintain emergency response, spill prevention, and hazard communication programs
  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments with a focus on continual improvement
  • Coordinate safety training, including First Aid, CPR, AED, and job-specific procedures
  • Oversee environmental documentation, chemical inventory, and regulatory reporting
  • Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and third-party auditors
  • Promote sustainability efforts and foster an employee-driven safety culture
  • Travel up to 2 times per month to Vernay facilities in Georgia and Ohio for audits, training, or project support

Education, Experience, and Skills Required


  • Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS roles and 5+ years in manufacturing environments
  • OSHA 300-hour certification or comparable formal safety training
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 required; ISO 45001 experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state environmental regulations and workplace safety standards
  • Proven ability to work independently, lead cross-functional initiatives, and engage employees at all levels
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
