NPD Engineer

Join Vernay as a New Product Development (NPD) Engineer and play a key role in shaping innovative solutions that meet the highest standards in the automotive and medical industries.


Primary Responsibilities/Essential Skills


  • Lead new product development projects from concept through prototype and full-scale launch.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Chemists, and R&D to define requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
  • Drive timely execution of prototypes, First Article Inspection (FAI), ISIR/PPAP, and IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and APQP principles throughout development.
  • Use simulation and data tools to support internal and external customer applications.
  • Document customer communication, risk analysis, and timelines with precision.
  • Support cross-functional teams with your technical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and 5S initiatives.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials preferred); PMP certification highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of experience in end-to-end product development (prototype to launch).
  • Strong project management skills with experience tracking progress, budgets, and timelines.
  • Proficiency with APQP Core Tools (Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Solid understanding of statistics and experience using MiniTab or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of rubber molding, injection molding, and related testing equipment.
  • Effective communication with global teams and customers; willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship will be provided.
