Shift Manager

Job Scope

For our production site in Oldenzaal, we are looking for a Shift Manager who excels in leading and developing teams within a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you are the key player on the shop floor and, together with your team, you ensure that Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SPQDC) perform at a top level every day – and with enjoyment.

As a Shift Manager working in a three-shift operation, you are responsible for organizing and leading your shift. You combine operational leadership with coaching and easily switch between people, processes, and performance.


You take ownership of, among others:


  • Creating a safe, clean, and structured working environment.
  • Strong leadership, focused on engaging employees and enabling them to perform their activities effectively, efficiently, and with enjoyment.
  • Ensuring your team is in top condition in terms of knowledge, skills, behavior, and energy.
  • Realizing planned output in line with safety, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Shop Floor Management: proactively and structurally steering deviations, opportunities, and improvements at the Gemba through clear priorities, actions, owners, and deadlines (PDCA), within your own shift, between shifts, and in close collaboration with all supporting departments.
  • Reporting relevant information to your manager and senior management to demonstrate process control and to request support where needed to address challenges.

Who are we looking for?


  • You are a decisive leader who knows how to engage people and encourages ownership. 
  • At least an MBO-level education, preferably with a technical background. 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within a production or manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, ERP systems, and capacity planning. 
  • Result-driven, analytically strong, and continuously focused on improvement. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Good command of the English language.
